Planning for the fourth iteration of the New Librarians Symposium is now well underway, with a date, venue, and theme all confirmed.
NLS 4.0 will be happening on Friday, May 24th, 2019 at the Ryerson University Library and Archives. The theme for this year’s event is The Act of Doing Librarianship.
Our intention for this year’s gathering is to provide a space to talk about how we are proactively and intentionally wrestling with something that’s difficult. We hope to provide a program that looks at this broad scope of what this could look like, from challenging yourself on a specific project to navigating organizational politics and culture to interrogating the cultural norms and values of librarianship.
We’re encouraging new grads and early career professionals to shape this year’s programming and discussions by submitting a Lightning Talk proposal. Cruise on over to the Calls for Participation page to find out more details about how you can get involved.
